Klipsch announced its new T5 II wireless earbuds on Monday, the company's first earbuds to feature active noise cancellation (ANC) and hands-free head-motion controls.
Klipsch T5 II True Wireless earbuds review | Put away those AirPods!
The T5 II model offers a lot of what you’d expect from a premium pair of earbuds: wireless Bluetooth connectivity, active noise cancellation, sweat and water resistance, and so on. However, the hands-free gesture controls, which let you do things like accept or reject incoming calls by simply moving your head, are a bit of a surprise.
According to Klipsch's description, many of the T5 II's standout features come from their integration with a Bragi OS. Bragi's OS (built into the headphones) offers automatic noise cancellation that kicks in to protect you from unexpected loud sounds, and gives you shortcut configurations, equalizer adjustments, and more. Hands-free gesture controls let you perform actions like nodding to accept a call, shaking your head to reject a call, or skipping an audio track, etc.
The Klipsch T5 II earbuds complete the package, offering up to seven hours (five with ANC) of battery life, plus an additional 21 hours (15 with ANC) when using the charging case. The earbuds use Dirac HD Sound for enhanced spatial audio, vocal clarity, and bass fidelity. All of these features, plus the hands-free operation, could make the T5 II earbuds a worthy competitor to Apple's AirPods Pro.
