Rakuten Kobo’s new Sage e-reader also plays audiobooks, connects to Bluetooth speakers and headphones, and lets you take notes on the screen with a stylus. Isn’t that all a bit much?
KOBO SAGE Review: 1 Month Later | Kindle Killer?
The beauty of an e-reader is that it does one thing and does it pretty well. The e-ink screens on Kobos and Kindles reflect light like paper, making them relaxing to read and giving them an insane battery life that lasts for weeks.

“E-ink note-taking devices are a single-use device designed solely for reading e-books or listening to audiobooks. They are designed solely to provide a comfortable reading experience,” Katherine Brown of parenting technology app company Spyic told Lifewire via email.
