Your smart plugs will be a lot more organized now that you can label them with a device type using the Google Home app.

How to connect your smart home plug to Google Home

Labeling devices: To label your smart plugs, open the Home app, tap on the smart plug you want to label, and go to settings. From there, tap on Type and choose the most suitable label. Currently, you can choose from Smart Light, Air Conditioner, Coffee Maker, Dehumidifier, Fan, Heater, Humidifier, Kettle, TV, or Smart Plug.

Availability: The new feature was initially spotted by 9to5Google, who noted that it came to the iOS version of the Google Home app about a week before its arrival on Android. If you don't see the "device type" option yourself, make sure you've updated the Google Home app to the latest version. iOS is version 2.25. 105; Android is 2.25. 1.5.

In short, smart plugs are a lot more convenient than getting up and flipping a switch (and more futuristic), and their low price makes them easy to get. This new quality of life update from Google should make them even more appealing and easier to use.
