To hire or recruit mercenaries in Manor Lords, you need to click on the Army menu at the bottom of the screen. There, click on the "Create New Units" button (plus icon) and then select the "Hand offering some coins" icon. You will then be given three Mercenaries options, including the following:
You can select one of the above three Mercenary groups and hire them in Manor Lords. If you choose the cheapest Mercenary Group, The Wayward Sons, then you have to pay them 45 Treasury Wealth for a month of service. After 1 month, you can either let them sign again or just let them go. One important thing to note is that Treasury Wealth is your personal money. It is not Regional Wealth which is the collective money of your city. So if you want to recruit Mercenaries in Manor Town, you have to pay money from your own pocket.
