The fourth and final beta version of Android 13 is out, meaning the official version of the operating system won’t be long in coming.
Android 13 Beta 4 Out Now | The Last Beta Before Launch |
The Android 13 beta has been rolling out to developer previews and beta builds since February of this year, but it appears its time is almost up. The latest test run, beta 4, is now available to anyone who registered for testing early or wanted to sign up for an early look. As ever with betas, there’s a chance you’ll encounter a bug that has yet to be ironed out, but Google says it achieved platform stability with beta 3, so that might not be as much of a risk this time around.
This latest beta has finalized and optimized everything developers need to test their own apps on the new operating system. Google is even urging developers to get their app affairs in order quickly so they can submit final builds before Android 13's official release.
Other changes with Android 13 include improved support for larger (i.e. tablet) screens. Multi-window/split-screen mode will be enabled by default, and a taskbar is being added to help with multitasking.
