The latest patch for Helldivers 2, Patch 1,000,203, has just dropped from outer space, and it’s a double-edged sword. While the developer has fixed the perk of the new armor and some crashes have been eliminated, Divers must still deal with several game-warping issues that made it through the bugspray.

Helldivers 2 – BIG UPDATE! Stratagem, weapon nerf and secret egg!

We’re no strangers to Helldivers 2 patches that fail to fully repair an undoubtedly complicated game, but this patch left a lot to be desired. Patch 1,000,203 brings a unique gameplay change: the CE-27 Ground Breaker gets its proper Engineering Kit passive. Getting more grenades on the Democratic Detonation Warbond’s signature armor is a great thing, so we’re happy to see it.

And that’s not all the patch addressed. Various crashes were fixed, from multiplayer-based disconnect triggers to crashes that could occur when too many citizens spawned. The game was in a very erratic state after patch 1,000,202, so it’s great to get these stability updates.

But perhaps more telling than what was fixed in the notes was what wasn’t. The Known Issues segment of the notes took up the bulk of the patch this time around. The Superior Packing Methodology bug that’s been plaguing the high-level Ship Module upgrade for the past two weeks makes the list. Costing 150 Samples, 150 Rare Samples, 15 Super Samples, and 20,000 Requisition Slips, this Ship Module is a massive money pit. And for good reason, as fully reloading Support Weapons like the bulky Spear and Recoilless Rifle is a huge deal during messy battles. But with this bug completely disabling the Module, many Divers who invested heavily in it are yet to reap its rewards, and have lost a significant amount of resources as a result.
