After completing hundreds of levels in Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty fans may be wanting to return to the old Prestige system for Black Ops 6.

The news was broken today by @BobNetworkUK on Twitter/X, who has shared accurate leaks in the past. The idea of the classic feature possibly making a return has many in the CoD fanbase excited, as it is a long-awaited change that has been needed since the franchise introduced the modernized Prestige system with tons of levels. In MW3, for example, players could reach level 850 starting in season four.
If the classic Prestige system from older CoD titles makes a return, players may have to make some major sacrifices to achieve Prestige. In the past, opting into Prestige mode meant resetting their account to level one, while also having to re-unlock all of their weapons, killstreaks, perks, and camos.
In the original 2009 Modern Warfare 2, for example, players received a new emblem for their profile, an additional slot for a custom class, and other cosmetic items, challenges, and achievements that could only be received after reaching a certain prestige level.
