What You Need to Know About Windows' 'Public' Folders

The Windows Public folder is located in the Users folder on the root of the hard drive where Windows is installed. This is usually C:/Users/Public, but it may be a different letter depending on the drive where the Windows files are stored.

Any local user on the computer can access the Public folder at any time. By configuring specific network access, you can control whether network users can access the folder.
