Lenovo has unveiled a wireless charging kit that will work with most 13- to 14-inch laptops. It’s coming in October and will cost around $165.
Lenovo Go Wireless Charging Kit – Setup and Use
In a press release detailing a number of Lenovo Go accessories, the company also revealed that it is releasing a wireless laptop charger called the Lenovo Go USB-C Wireless Charging Kit. The kit is designed to work with most 13- to 14-inch Windows and macOS laptops, using energysquare’s Power-by-Contact (PbC) technology to deliver the charge.
The Lenovo Go USB-C Wireless Charging Kit includes a receiver base that plugs into your laptop and a charging mat that plugs into a wall outlet or a 45- to 65-watt charger. Plug in the mat, connect the receiver to a USB Type-C port on your laptop, and then place the laptop and receiver on the mat to begin charging.
Because the Wireless Charging Kit uses PbC charging, it will not work with standard Qi-based chargers. These use conduction rather than Qi’s inductive technology. This means you will need to use a PbC-compatible transmitter in order for the kit’s receiver to start charging.
