The community was very happy with the latest update of Counter-Strike 2, with Valve finally bringing back a sorely missed anti-cheat feature to the tactical shooter.

Catching CS2 cheaters red-handed

The patch notes for On The Other Hand (April 25) for CS2 mention the return of the Overwatch system, which will allow "trusted partners" to rate match demos to aid Valve in its seemingly endless war against cheaters. Given that it will work in conjunction with VAC, the community is hopeful that Overwatch will significantly improve the game's destructive cheating problem.

For those who don't know, Overwatch has a player-driven anti-cheat system (not the game itself, which is developed by Blizzard Entertainment). Players selected for this system can watch gameplay demos of suspected cheaters reported by the community and give their verdict on whether it is a violation. The suspect is investigated based on the following factors:
