Although cassette players are no longer standard equipment in new cars, you can still listen to your tapes in a modern car audio system. Here are a few effective ways.

The simplest solution is to connect a portable cassette player, such as a Walkman, to your car's built-in auxiliary input using an auxiliary cable.

No aux input in your car? Connect your cassette player to an FM modulator or transmitter. Transmitters are easy to use, although they can be a bit sensitive. For example, they don’t work well in urban areas where the FM dial is full of powerful stations. In those cases, you’ll have trouble finding an open frequency and you’ll hear interference.

Modulators are similar to transmitters, but they offer the possibility to install an auxiliary input by connecting it to the antenna of your car radio.
