On June 7, Faker finally received his Hall of Legends trophy and was officially revealed as the first player to be inducted into the League of Legends fold. But it was already visibly damaged, and fans are understandably angry.
Is Faker OK?
The video of Faker receiving and celebrating the trophy in Seoul was shared by numerous news outlets. Some captured close-ups of the award itself, and it appears to have a crack-like scratch on the side. Additionally, one side looks slightly damaged, as if it had been dropped during shipping. These flaws quickly made their way to social media platforms like Reddit, where fans expressed their disgust at the state of the trophy.
“Not much more needs to be said. […] Disrespectful and just plain embarrassing, but that’s the direction riots have been going for a while now,” reads one of the most popular responses.
Others lashed out at how the League developer is ripping players off a $450 skin bundle when it can't afford a high-quality, undamaged trophy. "'We couldn't afford a good quality trophy before we started the Ahri skin,'" one fan wrote. "'Sir, the trophy has dents and scratches. Who cares? The skins will sell anyway,'" another added.
