League of Legends players today demanded that Riot Games investigate reviving the long-gone game mode Twisted Treeline, though many fans admit the three-versus-three playlist is in need of a "major update" to bring it up to modern standards.

In what has become a semi-regular fanfare within the wider League fandom since Twisted Treeline's season nine removal, players have taken to social media to declare that the three-on-three mode "needs to come back" — especially as more and more people in the community move away from ranked play and instead seek out more casual playlists to occupy their League gaming time.
Much of the discussion on July 4th was steeped in nostalgia, with some players declaring that “the memories made there were iconic,” while others reminisced about how they would always warm up to the solo queue with its fast-paced three-on-three lobbies. Some even warned the developers that they might leave the game altogether if they had to keep playing Rift matches.
There were also those who spoke out against the idea, with many pointing to Riot’s original reason for cutting the mode: Twisted Treeline didn’t load enough League players. While the MOBA’s modes team never actually shared how bad the play numbers got towards the end, the consensus was that the queue never really reached a few thousand players. I can certainly remember some pretty long queues when I tried to play in 2019.
