CI Games, the publisher of Lord of the Fallen, was recently spotted filing for a sequel set for release in 2026. While the game is slated for a multiplatform release, its PC distribution partner is bad news for Steam devotees.
Lords Of The Fallen – Several months and updates later
The binding report between CI Games and Epic Games, first reported on June 15 by Polish site Bankier, mentions the 2026 sequel to Lords of the Fallen, which currently has a working title of “Project 3.” The legal agreement grants Epic exclusive worldwide distribution rights on PC “for the entire lifecycle of the product.”
As for other platforms, CI Games will remain the publisher for those platforms. “The rights to publish and distribute the game worldwide on all other platforms, including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms for which the game is currently in development, will remain with [CI Games],” the legal filing reads.
This almost certainly means that the sequel to Lords of the Fallen will follow in the footsteps of Alan Wake 2 on PC. Published by Epic Games’ publishing division, Alan Wake 2 launched exclusively through the Epic Games Store on PC and was paid to stay there “for a long time.” While it’s too early to tell for CI Games’ sequel, we can assume something similar is happening.
