Magic Leap's new AR headset is coming in 2022
AR company Magic Leap recently announced that it has raised capital and will release an improved headset, breathing new life into a company that some thought was lagging. The new headset, the Magic Leap 2, is aimed at businesses, but experts say the company’s revival is a sign that AR is catching on for users.
“While the hardware has improved, the applications of AR are lackluster and few consumers want the product, other than a handful of gamers and tech enthusiasts,” Quynh Mai, CEO of AR and virtual reality (VR) company Moving Image and Content, told Lifewire in an email interview. “Now that Magic Leap has entered the enterprise space and found a really good use case with remote work, there is hope for real relevance and need.”
The Magic Leap 2 AR headset is expected to hit the market next year, but some customers are already testing the beta version.
