The iPhone 12’s MagSafe charger is a thing of beauty. Fast to charge, just like the Apple Watch, and easy enough to do while drunk or in the dark. But what else could the magnetic circle be used for?

All of the new iPhone 12s have a magnetic loop on the back, which so far has served two purposes. One is to allow accessories to be adhered to the iPhone. The other is to perfectly align a contact charging pad so it can charge twice as fast as regular Qi charging pads. Apple has already announced a sticky wallet (that apparently comes off quickly), a wall charger and phone cases that stick to the back. Here are some more ideas.
This one seems inevitable. You can’t use a Qi charging bank in your bag or your iPhone will fall off. One solution would be to hold them together with a rubber band. Another solution would be a MagSafe battery power bank. You can tape the iPhone to the top, throw it in a pocket and let it do its thing. I expect you’ll see one of these from Mophie or Anker soon.
