Team Deathmatch just got a whole lot bigger. Apex Legends’ new Void Reckoning event takes TDM to the next level with an LTM that doubles the size of the game’s existing TDM mode, making for some good old-fashioned chaos.
NEW 12v12 BIG TEAM TDM MODE! APEX LEGENDS VOID RECKONING EVENT!
Big TDM will feature teams of 12 players instead of six. The new, larger version will also increase the winning team’s score cap to 60, and the Apex blog also notes that the new LTM will feature “improved health regeneration.” That’s good news for players who like to fight early and often, as the increased health regeneration will hopefully mean people will have an easier time resetting after a solo fight with an enemy, and teams won’t have to fear direct, third-party deathball strategies from their opponents.
The new event also comes with the usual roundup of skins, which players can unlock via event packs, or purchase directly from the store with Apex Coins if you have a specific skin in mind and don’t want to mess with a pack’s RNG. The skins follow a regal armor theme, with legendaries in silver, gold, and blue, and plenty of breastplates and pauldrons to go around. Newcastle seems to be a particular standout, with a glowing gold holo-crown atop his helmet.
While the new skins look nice, there is no Heirloom or Prestige skin that appears to be tied to this event, so players don't have to worry about unlocking all of the event skins for a special reward.
