We still don't have a lot of information about Pokémon Legends: ZA, but one creative fan has come up with a new speculative format beyond Mega Evolution and regional variants that could be the perfect addition to the sequel.
New JOHTO Mega Evolutions for Pokemon Legends ZA!
The Pokémon Company has only released one trailer for Legends: ZA so far, and the only thing we know for sure is that the game will focus on the redevelopment of Lumiose, one of the largest cities in the Kalos region. The trailer also teased the return of Gen VI's Mega Evolution mechanic, allowing fans to predict which Pokémon might get new Mega Evolutions, with Charizard, Flygon, and Incineroar being top picks.
In addition to new Mega Evolutions, it’s safe to assume that we’ll be getting new evolutions or forms of existing Pokémon in Legends: ZA, whether they’re regional forms, convergent species, or something completely new. Today, one player suggested that “eternal forms” could be making an appearance in ZA , and they even showed off the intriguing concept in artwork posted to Instagram to go along with the cool idea. The art shows off a handful of Gen VI Pokémon, including Greninja and Sylveon, with a red, blue, black, and white aesthetic.
The concept is derived from the Eternal Flower Floette from X and Y. The elusive Floette variant was part of Kalos lore as the beloved companion of the mysterious man, AZ. The title of the upcoming game happens to feature the reverse spelling of AZ, so it would make sense for the character and his Eternal Flower Floette to appear in Legends: ZA. And if Floette is given an Eternal form, what's stopping them from giving other 'mon the same special treatment? This could even serve as a replacement for regional forms in ZA, giving these Eternal Pokémon access to new types, abilities, moves, and possible evolutions. After all, it's always exciting to see certain Pokémon flourish with new forms and tricks up their sleeves.
