Are you using the same email address or a handful of email addresses for all of your communications? You should probably stop doing that.
STOP giving out your real email address (do this instead)
When you create a new account for, well, anything, you can use a password manager to create unique and complex access codes. But you probably still use the same email address for everything. Wouldn't it be great if you could also create a unique email address to go with that strong password?
Fastmail and 1Password have teamed up to offer “masked” email addresses, which are just that. You can automatically generate a new email address upon registration, and it’ll automatically be forwarded to your regular inbox. Masked emails join recent, similar offerings from DuckDuckGo and Apple. Are we finally getting serious about email security?
"People who use 'in-the-know' emails have been using masked email addresses for years, but it's the ease of use that makes it accessible," Helen Horstmann-Allen, Fastmail's chief operating officer, told Lifewire via email. "That was such a great opportunity for us with 1Password. The email part was simple for us, and by working with them we were able to put the feature right where you need it most: when you sign up for a new service."
