Microsoft's Edge browser could become even more secure thanks to a new project called “Super Duper Secure Mode.”

The Record first learned that Microsoft's browser vulnerability research team is working on an experimental project to automatically disable performance or optimization features to prioritize security when a threat is detected.
Microsoft describes the project in detail in a blog post: “Our hope is to build something that changes the modern exploit landscape and significantly increases the cost of exploitation for attackers.”
The tech giant explains that Super Duper Secure Mode will work by disabling JIT (known as just-in-time, a compilation that is performed during code execution) in Javascript. Microsoft hopes that disabling JIT and enabling other security features like CET (control-flow-enforcement technology) will eliminate about half of the bugs that need to be fixed.
