Say goodbye to Microsoft Office, as Office.com and all versions of the Office app will soon be rebranded as Microsoft 365.
What Microsoft Doesn't Want You to Know About Microsoft Office
Microsoft is officially phasing out Office in favor of Microsoft 365, but Office isn’t technically going anywhere. What’s specifically happening is that the Office suite is getting a new name and an update, becoming its own version of the cloud-focused Microsoft 365 platform. That means you can expect a new look, an updated icon, and more features.
Office 365 subscriptions will also continue, along with access to Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word (and one-time purchase options for those apps). But Office.com will become Microsoft365.com, and the Windows, Android, and iOS apps will see a permanent rebrand.
With the visual changes come several new features, like new templates for the Create module and an easier way to track subscriptions and storage usage with Badging. Another planned addition is the ability to search and pin the tools you use most often to the new Microsoft 365 app. And then there’s My Content, which lets you view all of your Microsoft 365 content from one central location, making the transition from business to personal use a whole lot easier.
