A number of new features are being added to Microsoft Teams to make hybrid (remote/in-person) meetings more accessible and easier to manage.
Hybrid working in the office with Microsoft Teams
Each of these new features is being developed with the goal of making hybrid meetings feel as close to a typical in-person gathering as possible. Remote and in-office team members can communicate and collaborate more effectively with their colleagues. New videoconferencing formats should make it easier for everyone to stay engaged and responsive.
Thursday’s announcement about Microsoft 365 reveals that Teams Rooms, Fluid and Viva are the primary focus of these updates. The most touted addition to Teams Rooms, “front row,” is a new meeting layout that organizes facecam videos horizontally across the bottom of the screen.
This will place remote workers’ feeds in a row, similar to how they would look if they were sitting across the table, with extra space at the top for relevant information that can be updated in real time using Fluid.
