As you begin using Midjourney for AI-powered image creation, you may have come across different modes that you can enable to change how fast or slow these images are generated. All of these modes consume different amounts of your monthly GPU time, which you are granted when you subscribe to a plan on Midjourney or renew your monthly subscription.
Fast and Relaxed Mode in Midjourney Explained
Midjourney currently offers three generation modes for capturing images: Quick mode, Relaxed mode, and Turbo mode.
Fast Mode: This is the default generation mode for everything you create on Midjourney. When this mode is active, Midjourney will process your prompt as fast as possible using its GPUs. So this will consume some GPU time from your monthly allotment.
For an average task, the Midjourney bot needs about 1 minute of GPU time to create an image and this time is deducted from your monthly GPU time. Fast Mode is available on Midjourney accounts regardless of which plan you have subscribed to.
