When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was revealed, it was announced that the game would carry over all weapons and attachments from the previous game (MW2). While Warzone featured weapons from three different CoD titles at once, it was the first time something like this had been planned for multiplayer. Unfortunately, it now appears that MW2 attachments and weapons will be redundant in MW3.
This Call of Duty is BETTER than MW2 😂
Not only does the game feature a long list of weapons, but it also has an even larger set of attachments, most of which are never used by players. User RainOfJustice recently posted a meme on Reddit (see above) showing how good most MW3 attachments are compared to their weaker MW2 counterparts, while comparing stats.
Chryonicc noted, "The fact that they added the MW2 weapons to the game and never bothered to fix it is still very annoying." The goal was to convince players that the money they spent on purchasing cosmetic skins in MW2 wouldn't go to waste so quickly and could be used in the next game. The developers could have tried to balance the older weapons to make them more powerful, but that apparently didn't happen.
Another Redditor calls the carry forward useless, and I can't help but agree. Because of this transfer of assets from MW2, MW3 is now cluttered with way too many weapon and attachment options. Having weapons from different games available works well for Warzone Battle Royale, but is unnecessary for CoD Multiplayer.
