The Complete Guide to Bloomburrow Prerelease and Draft | Magic: The Gathering Deck Building
Our second episode of MTG Madness is officially out, detailing what you need to know before heading to the Prerelease Bloomburrow events from July 26th through August 1st. All subscribers will get a detailed breakdown of the 281 cards included in the main set for Limited Draft and Sealed gameplay. Each card has been evaluated based on early playtime via the Bloomburrow Early Access MTG Arena event and years of Limited experience.
Knowing Draft archetypes is a good foundation, but Sealed, the format played at Prerelease events, is a little different. The money you spend to play at the event earns you a Prerelease Kit, which contains six Playbooster packs and a bonus Prerelease promo card. The 40-card deck you create comes from this.
Bloomburrow is an aggressive Limited set, even in Sealed where the pace is typically slower. Be careful about splashing too many colors in your deck due to the faster games. You will usually need to add a third color, but I would only use that third color to splash bombs and top-tier cards if possible.
