Big changes are expected to come to Magic: The Gathering Modern decklists during the final Pro Tour of the season, with powerful cards from the Modern Horizons 3 set.
Pro Tour Modern Horizons 3 Day 1
The new Modern Horizons 3 set launched worldwide on June 14, featuring a slew of powerful MTG cards for formats like Commander and Modern. MTG players wasted no time testing cards like Nadu, Winged Wisdom and Ral, Monsoon Mage, including them in the two most popular decks played during the MH3 Pro Tour Amsterdam from June 28-30. More than 20 percent of the field is playing a Bant deck built around Nadu, according to WotC’s June 27 Modern Metagame analysis.
These are the most popular Modern decks being played during the final Pro Tour tournament of the 2023-2024 season.
Nadu, Winged Wisdom caught the attention of many players when it was first revealed. The Bird Wizard was my top choice to build a Commander deck around and has become the most popular card to play at MH3 Pro Tour Amsterdam. Nadu has an ability that easily draws cards when a creature is targeted by a spell or ability. This ability can be activated twice per creature, which can be a big draw in the Modern format with cards like Shuko that have a zero Equip cost.
