A cynical person might say that Instagram's promotion of multiple accounts is just to boost user numbers, but it can actually be useful.
How to Manage Unlimited Instagram Profiles for Social Media Management
Instagram has been encouraging users to sign up for multiple accounts for a while now. If you do, you can either link that account to the one you already have, or you can create a separate account. Facebook wins here because it can add all those extra signups to its new user metric. But multiple accounts can be good for users, too.
“As an author/speaker,” Christine Eberle told Lifewire via email, “I use two Instagram accounts: one personal and one professional. My professional followers don't need to see all those pictures of dogs and meals and sunrises!”
If you’ve been using Instagram for a while, you probably follow a lot of people. A new account might seem like a fresh start, and Instagram bills it as such. One of the sign-up prompts suggests that you can “stay in touch with a smaller group of friends,” for example. Or maybe you want one account for work and one for personal use. Or maybe you’re tired of following some people, but don’t want them to see that you’ve unfollowed them.
