In the first match of the bracket stage, TES’ dominant performance leaves NA’s last hopes hanging by a thread as Liquid tries to reign supreme in the lower bracket. Expectations were high for NA’s first seed Liquid, but they were quickly crushed by the LPL’s second seed playing on their home turf.
Although TES failed to impress in the play-in phase, they went into the match against Liquid as favorites. With superior macro play and a deep understanding of the lane swap meta, TES asserted their dominance on the Rift.
The first game set the tone for the series, with TES securing kill after kill in a clean and impressive display. They controlled the game, methodically securing neutral objectives, starting with Void Grubs and dragons while stifling Liquid’s countermeasures options. Game two was a repeat of TES’ performance, as they shut down Liquid’s strategy of late-game scaling in under 25 minutes, closing out the match quickly.
