Windows Command Line Guide – 1 – Introduction to the Command Prompt
The net send command is available from the command prompt in Windows XP, as well as in older versions of Windows and in some Windows Server operating systems.
Windows XP was the last version of Windows to include the net send command, so it is not available in Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista. Instead, the msg command replaces the net send command in those versions of Windows.
The availability of certain net send command options and other net send command syntax may vary by operating system.
