A new Apex Legends lore trailer has fans putting on their tinfoil hats and trying to figure out where the story is going. Today, we got a glimpse at Alter's interest in Horizon, as well as a possible look at the game's newest battle royale playground.
Apex Legends: Shockwave gameplay trailer
The new trailer finally drops the curtain on the device Horizon found in the Season 20 trailer, and Horizon's continued attempts to get back to Newton, her son who she's been separated from by time, space, and Ash. Horizon's attempts to make the device work as a means of time travel go nowhere, but Alter shows up to shake things up (and reveals the scene behind that "shove you in a closet" dialogue interaction with Lifeline).
Alter is revealed to have encountered many different Horizons in other dimensions and claims she wants to help Horizon return to Newton.
Considering Alter's lore on the official Apex website states that she's drawn to cataclysms, the same person has ended worlds in multiple other dimensions, and her obsession with Horizon and helping her, the logical leap here is that Horizon is most likely the person who destroyed the world in other dimensions. Time travel is messy, after all, and it's a pretty logical leap that starting a big new time travel event horizon might inadvertently open up a temporal anomaly with the power to erase everything or something.
