Paradox Interactive, a video game publisher best known for its strategy and simulation games, has just announced that it will be publishing Foundry, a factory building simulation that borrows the look and feel, not to mention an "infinite" world, from games like Minecraft.
Update 1: Cables & Creations Update Overview | FOUNDRY Update now live!
Factory sims challenge you to create complex machine systems, where you have to create different products through bizarre systems. Games like Captain of Industry, Production Line: Car Factory Simulator, and Satisfactory keep players interested with puzzles, production challenges, and more to trigger that flow state we all strive for when playing games like these.
Foundry uses voxel-based graphics, which recreate the blocky look of games like Minecraft, Trove, and CubeWorld. What sets Foundry apart, however, is the promise of an infinite world in which to build your complex machines.
You play Foundry in first-person, mining raw materials and crafting machines that make various products. There’s research to automate, logistical challenges to complete, and things like complex energy systems to keep everything running. You can even play with a bunch of friends, though Paradox suggests playing with 2-4 players to make your wild factory dreams come true.
