JBL's latest Authentics speaker series features built-in music streaming, clear sound and the ability to control two voice assistant platforms simultaneously.
JBL Authentics | New smart speakers with Alexa and Google Assistant!
Speakers have been JBL’s specialty for decades, so it makes sense that the company would continue to produce more of them. This time around, it’s offering a trio of devices that can work with both Alexa and Google Assistant simultaneously, without the need to manually swap or uninstall and reinstall them.
This new JBL Authentics series includes the Authentics 200, Authentics 300, and Authentics 500 to cover a variety of sound system interests. All models offer Bluetooth pairing, built-in streaming for handling playlists (or phone calls), and JBL One app compatibility for more personalized control.
That said, only the Authentics 300 appear to be wireless, with a claimed 8 hours of playtime from its 4800mAh battery. The Authentics 200 and 500 rely on a 50 to 60Hz, 100 to 240V AC connection. And if you want to use Dolby Atmos, you’ll want to shell out for the Authentics 500, as the other two models aren’t compatible.
