Well, that didn’t last long. As Apple readies Vision Pro for release tomorrow, Meta has dropped a surprise update to its own-brand VR headset. The company now says you can watch spatial video (touted as a perk for Apple users) on its Quest 3, Quest 2, and Quest Pro series VR devices.

That's certainly a nice bit of timing, but it's not just spatial video coming to your Quest. Meta also says that the new update will support more "external gamepads, including PlayStation, Xbox, and more," according to the release.
“We’ve also improved Meta Quest gamepad support to include PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless Controllers and PlayStation 4 DualShock, giving you even more options for gaming in VR.”
Gaming is a big deal on Quest headsets, so this will give us more options to play in VR and mixed reality, including games on Microsoft's GamePass via the cloud.
