If you use the Internet for anything, it's almost certain that your personal information will be exposed at some point. Mozilla wants to help you remove that data.
Google has launched a new tool to delete your personal data – Here's how!
Mozilla on Tuesday announced an expansion of its Mozilla Monitor service. The service originally launched in September 2018 and has more than 10 million subscribers. Monitor Plus is a premium subscription that helps remove your information from data broker sites that try to sell it to the highest bidder. Mozilla Monitor Plus uses a free scan to help determine if your personal data has been involved in a breach.
The free scan requires you to provide your first and last name, the city you live in, your date of birth, and your email address. Mozilla uses this information to identify sites that are selling your personal information for profit. "This can include information like your name, current and previous home addresses, and phone numbers. It can also go deeper with information like the names of family members, your criminal history, your children's school district, and even your hobbies," wrote Jenifer Boscacci, a contributor to the blog dist://ed. Additionally, Boscacci wrote that the information revealed can include things like your Social Security number, bank account numbers, and PIN numbers.
Mozilla ensures that the information you provide is encrypted and complies with the company's privacy policy.
