Roku has announced that its new operating system, Roku OS 10.5, will be coming to its devices in the coming weeks.
Roku OS 11: First details about Roku's latest software update
According to a press release from the company, OS 10.5 introduces a bunch of new features, configurations, and even advice on how to use Roku Voice.
High-quality audio and sound seem to be the focus for OS 10.5. While it appears that all Roku streaming devices are getting the update, the Roku Streambar, Streambar Pro, and Smart Soundbar will be compatible with 3.1 and 5.1 surround sound. Additionally, the company’s wireless speakers can be paired with these devices to act as front-facing speakers.
The Audio/Video (A/V) sync feature has been improved as it now actively attempts to resolve syncing issues. Additionally, users can make specific adjustments to the video using their smartphone camera and adjust the audio delay using wireless headphones. This fix is available in the settings menu of the Roku mobile app.
