If you use Philips Hue smart lights, it's time to update your app to version 4.0 for a better, more streamlined experience.
Philips Hue — Complete beginner's guide
Philips announced a new update to its app on Thursday with a more intuitive interface, faster performance and a new, sleeker look.
With the app, created by Signify, you can now group your lights into rooms and zones to control your lighting to your liking. Users can access any light scene from the Hue scene gallery on one screen and set them to any room or zone with a single tap.
Other improvements include the ability to set scenes, dim and brighten, and turn lights on and off from the same screen. There’s also a new Automations tab replacing the old Routines tab, offering more flexibility in customizing how you use your lights by displaying all of your automations at once.
