A new report finds that the new iPhone 13 will hold its value longer than Google's Pixel 6, as demand for the Apple device remains high despite unit shortages.

The report comes from Sell Cell, an online marketplace for older mobile devices. The company examined trade-in values of 45 devices from vendors to glean the data. According to the findings, the iPhone continues to perform well 13 months after launch, while the Pixel 6 has faltered since its release.
Consumer interest in Apple’s latest smartphone hasn’t waned. In fact, it’s been steadily increasing. In its first month, the iPhone 13 series saw an average depreciation rate of 24.9 percent, but that depreciation rate has been decreasing over time.
The Pixel 6, on the other hand, has struggled to compete. Across its five device options, the Pixel 6 line saw an average first-month sales decline of 42.6 percent, and that figure continues to fall. Despite the iPhone 13’s initial struggles, the Pixel 6 appears to be struggling to close the gap. The report suggests that the power of brand recognition is fueling this trend.
