Your smartphone may soon get a smart upgrade.
This phone is so powerful it can run generative AI on the device 😮!
Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon series 7 Gen 3 chip that the company says will first be used in Honor and Vivo phones. The new chipset "delivers across-the-board improvements to boost on-device AI," the company said in the press release.
Qualcomm says the new Snapdragon 7 chip has a 2.63GHz peak CPU speed, over 50 percent faster GPU performance, and AI capabilities are improved by as much as 60 percent per watt, all while remaining power efficient. For you, that means upgrades to the features and functionality you use most, without a huge cost to your device’s battery life.
“By working closely with our OEM partners, we can make the next generation of in-demand features, like enhanced AI and extraordinary camera capabilities, more broadly accessible to consumers,” said Christopher Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile phones at Qualcomm, in the press release.
