If, like me, you enjoy puzzle games, but also crime noir stories, especially with a Lovecraftian twist, then New York Mysteries 5: Power of Art is right up your alley. In this point-and-click RPG story, you must search for hidden objects and solve all sorts of puzzles as you progress through the story. You can choose the difficulty level yourself, but if you've gone a bit too far, I'm happy to help you out with my full New York Mysteries 5 Walkthrough.
New York Mysteries 5: Power of Art Full Game Walkthrough @ElenaBionGames
We play our heroine Laura, a journalist who investigates a mysterious incident in a gallery. A monster has disappeared from an exhibited painting, but there are no signs of a break-in. You go to the gallery to investigate, and it is no surprise that you arrive in the dark and rain, in true detective noir style.
I found the map (bottom right of the screen) very useful, as it allows you to quickly move between locations, and also shows where you currently need to perform actions and where you still need to find collectibles.
Click on the gallery doors (a1) to find them closed and leave the area. Close up on the car (a2) and grab the hairpin from the passenger side floor. The morphing object is in a window on the building above the car (a2). Also check the glove compartment to see that you need a handle and the bag under the seat to realize that you need to move the rusted car seat forward.
