NICKMERCS claimed he didn't know the transgender slur he recently used on social media was derogatory until he was banned, upon his return to the streaming service after a week-long Twitch ban.
Hasanabi gives advice to Nickmercs after he was banned on Twitch for talking to transgender people
The streamer returned for the first time since his June 28 ban on July 7, and was quick to address what had happened, in his own words, shortly after going live. But he didn’t seem to show much remorse or regret about the situation.
"I can't say the word that I said on Twitch," the streamer said, laughing. "Because it's considered derogatory, it's like a dirty word. I just want to say I didn't know that was a derogatory word. I didn't know that. You might think it was, but I swear to God on my mother's life, on everyone I love, on myself, I didn't know that was a derogatory word."
He admitted that “we didn’t say a lot of positive things” about the transgender community during that stream, but he “didn’t fucking know” and “they (probably Twitch staff) said it was like using the N-word,” so “they locked me up for a week.”
