Blizzard Entertainment announced today that there will be no BlizzCon event in 2024, but the company will still host several other live events for its games this year.

Blizzard's long-running convention, which celebrates the publisher's many franchises, will return at some point in the future, but for 2024 it's been postponed for now in favor of several other individual showcases spread throughout the calendar.

"After careful consideration over the past year, we at Blizzard have decided not to hold BlizzCon in 2024," Blizzard said in the announcement. "This decision was not made lightly, as BlizzCon remains a very special event for all of us, and we know many of you are looking forward to it. While we are taking a different approach this year and have explored different event formats in the past, rest assured that we are just as excited to bring BlizzCon back in the future."
