The announcement was made on NordVPN's official blog, which notes that the service can now take advantage of the improved capabilities of the new Apple computers.
Originally, NordVPN was not required to have M1 support because Apple implemented Rosetta 2, a software that allows apps intended for Intel processors to run on M1 Macs. However, NordVPN was unable to take advantage of the performance and speed improvements that the M1 offered.
With this new update, users will see the same performance improvement in NordVPN. Apps built for the M1 chip are generally more efficient and run better than localized apps.
