Nothing wants to challenge the current landscape of the tech world and the way people think about new technology. Their first piece of new hardware, the Nothing ear (1) earbuds, are a perfect place to start.
Stupid name, good product – Nothing Ear (a)
True wireless earbuds are now available in abundance, and the budget range continues to grow as more brands jump on the bandwagon. With its first pair of earbuds, however, Nothing decided to do things a little differently. By offering a product for under $100, Nothing had every right to skimp a little on the quality of both the build and the sound it delivers to the ear (1). Luckily for us, that’s not the case.
Instead, the company has delivered different, yet still reliably familiar, earbuds that pack a nice mix of mids and earthy bass. The highs are a little disappointing here, but overall, listening to music and other content on the ear (1) feels much more like you’re listening to it through a high-quality speaker.
The visual design is easily one of the most striking things you see when you look at Nothing’s first batch of hardware. The company’s entire mission is to take technology back to its roots. To focus more on delivering great hardware and technology than on how pretty it looks, and it shows.
