Nvidia is now bringing GeForce to Chrome browsers with an advanced feature set, and is also partnering with Google to develop Chromebooks specifically suited for cloud gaming.

Chromebooks are taking over.

For that reason, the specs have gotten a significant upgrade. Starting today, GeForce Now RTX 3080 users can stream PC games on Chrome browsers at up to 1600p and 120 frames per second. Previously, the cap was 1440p and 120 fps.

The companies are also planning support for a new line of Chromebooks purpose-built for cloud gaming. This trio of laptops will also feature 1600p resolution and at least 120 fps displays, depending on the model.

To entice customers, anyone who purchases the Acer Chromebook 516 GE, the ASUS Chromebook Vibe CX55 Flip, or the Lenovo Ideapad Gaming Chromebook will receive three free months of GeForce Now RTX 3080 (the highest tier) to try out cloud gaming for themselves. This also applies to current subscribers who purchase one of these Chromebooks.
