4K gaming is still limited to those who can spend a lot of money on extreme hardware, while many gamers are satisfied with 1440p or up to 1080p if you have a display of that size. I would rather opt for 1440p to at least have a full gaming experience. I don't take 4K as my primary need, 1440p is what many will happily settle for. At such a resolution, having sharp and immersive graphics is always my priority and that is only possible if you have something like the Nvidia GEFORCE RTX 2070 Super, luckily I had the chance to test this card and I am truly impressed with its output. My tests are based on high-end gaming systems, not mid-range or entry-level ones, as the Nvidia GEFORCE RTX 2070 SUPER Founders Edition falls into the top categories of cards. With few direct competitors in the market, the reason to recommend Nvidia GEFORCE RTX 2070 SUPER Founders Edition lies in its ability to handle 4K. If you plan to upgrade to a larger display for a 4K experience in the future, the RTX 2070 Super FE is a smart choice.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super FE Gaming Performance
When looking at the different variants in Nvidia’s RTX series, the RTX 2070 Super falls into the sweet spot between the 2080 and 2060 in terms of price and performance. If you’re considering getting the RTX 2060, check out the RTX 2070 Super. For a slight increase in price, it offers more memory bandwidth, which is very important for certain games. Why go for 6GB when you can afford 8GB for a slight increase in price?
Nvidia RTX 2070 SUPER Founders Edition comes in a big box with a manual and DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter. With an exceptional build, RTX 2070 SUPER FE is a heavy card with aluminum plating and dual fans on the top. It feels incredible to hold it in your hand, Geforce GTX highlighted at the center at the front has a green illuminated led. It glows when the card is active, an 8-pin + 6-pin port is placed on the left corner. RTX 2070 SUPER FE is a handsome card, the design is eye-catching but the size is large. Fitting it in a mid-tower case is tricky but we tried and were successful after moving the hard drive. Still, it is recommended to use a full-tower case with a power supply of at least 750W if you don’t have a liquid cooler.
Nvidia RTX 2070 SUPER FE can perform on 650w PSU but higher is always best. A high end gaming system like we have has a Core i5-8400 + 32GB DDR6 RAM, liquid cooler, 240GB SSD + 1TB HDD and Gigabyte gaming series motherboard. We use a 1000w PSU on this and never had any issues getting max performance out of RTX 2070 SUPER FE, we also ran a gaming test on a Ryzen 5 2600 system with 16GB RAM, stock CPU cooler, 1TB HDD and 650w corsair PSU. It performed well but we did find some issues with high resolution, games like Call of Duty Blacks Ops 4 stuttered on a dual monitor setup. This is definitely due to the power, the same game performed smoothly on one monitor at native resolution. The minimum power requirement for Nvidia RTX 2070 SUPER FE is 175W and the recommended value is 550W. So it's best to go for max to avoid any performance issues.
