Oculus Rift Review
The Oculus Rift was one of the first full-featured consumer VR solutions, but despite its age, it still stands out among newer competitors. The Rift has six degrees of freedom in its tracking and a solid game library via the Oculus Store and Steam VR. What the Rift has over its competitors is a phenomenal software platform, controllers that seem to morph in your hands, and an irresistible price tag.
Oculus has done a great job of making the Rift light and comfortable. At 1.04 pounds, the Rift headset easily stays where you want it to be during a VR session. To wear the Rift, you adjust three hook-and-loop straps over your head, depending on your proportions. Unfortunately, if you have a larger head, you may find the Rift a bit snug, but it should be comfortable for most people.
The face cushion is made of soft foam that is suitable for glasses wearers. In addition, the headset has a manually adjustable interpupillary distance (IPD) between 58 and 72 mm, which means that 90% of the population should be able to adjust the headset to their eyes.
