Opera (that other, other web browser) claims to be the first browser in history to enable web browsing using only emojis.
Decorate your tabs with tab emojis in Opera browser
This is possible through a recently announced partnership with Yat, a company that can provide users with their own personalized set of emojis that can act as a kind of ID. The partnership allows users to enter a series of emojis to navigate to a Yat page, which can then link to other websites.
According to the announcement, users (businesses, brands, etc.) will be able to set up a personalized set of emojis, which will then create a Yat page. From there, the page can be customized to function as a portfolio, bio page, etc., or redirect to another URL, effectively acting as an all-emoji alternative. One prominent example is rapper Lil Wayne’s page that directs people to his record label.
Opera's new emoji functionality brings other benefits as well, with Yat web addresses able to remove the ".y.at" from the URL. It will also allow embedded emojis on web pages to link directly to their corresponding Yat page.
