Optoma UHD60 4K Projector – Hands-on Review
Just a few years ago, diving into the waters of 4K projectors meant spending $10,000 or more. However, over the past two years, relatively cheap projectors like the Optoma UHD60 have hit the market, bringing the price of 4K projectors down to a fifth of what they once were. This significant price drop has made ultra-high-definition projectors much more accessible. But it hasn’t made them any easier to choose from. So we put the Optoma UHD60 to the test to see whether its performance, including picture and audio quality, installation, and usability, matched its price tag.
The Optoma UHD60 may be one of the larger and heavier home projectors on the market, measuring 19.6 inches long and 13 inches wide, and weighing in at a total of 16 pounds. However, the Optoma UHD60’s extra weight is worth every pound. That’s because it’s incredibly powerful.
Overall, the design is sleek and chic. That said, it does have one drawback: the top access panel is large and flimsy. It’s out of keeping with the rest of the sturdy construction and well-laid-out design. Since you don’t have to crack it open very often, it can be overlooked, but it was surprising to find such a design flaw in an otherwise nicely executed exterior.
