Looter shooters offer a fun gameplay loop that always pushes players to collect and craft new gear. Unfortunately, many of them are stuck in the idea of “games as a service”, never really offering an end to the story they’re telling.
Outriders fixes a BIG Looter Shooter problem!
Outriders, an upcoming looter-shooter from People Can Fly, will forgo the extra commitment other games demand in exchange for a more expansive story with a definitive ending.
While the sci-fi setting and the promise of a great story from the developers behind Bulletstorm initially attracted me to Outriders, it was the promise of its own beginning, middle, and end that really spoke to me.
Many looter shooters, like Destiny 2 and The Division 2, offer great looting and shooting, but they don’t have a definitive ending to the story. New content continues to arrive via DLC (downloadable content) and expansions and will continue to do so for years to come.
