Overwatch 2's tanks have been struggling of late, and Blizzard Entertainment has answered the call for help with some significant changes in Season 10's midseason update.
NEW Buffs and Nerfs TIER LIST – DPS, Tanks and Supports need HUGE changes | Overwatch Reworks
In a few weeks, a patch will introduce several fun buffs intended to “balance the amount of hits tanks can take to better stay in battle,” game director Aaron Keller said in a new blog post today.
The biggest change is that the tank’s passive attack is being improved. The damage dealt by headshots is reduced by 25 percent, so the tank will no longer be downed during combat. Knockback resistance has also been increased from 30 percent to 40 percent, so the tank is less likely to be overwhelmed by crowd control-like abilities.
"In OW2, tanks are the imposing heroes that carry the heaviest loads and allow their teammates to secure takedowns," Keller said. "While tanks are a big target for opponents to target, many team comps try to burn a tank's HP quickly, or move them around a lot with movement skills. We've heard feedback that tanks can feel like they're being taken down too quickly in combat or that they're impossible to take down."
